Among other applications EZM Gelenk- und Systemtechnik manufactures swivel joints for underwater noise protection.

In collaboration with Hydrotechnik Lübeck, flexible tubing systems (Big Bubble Curtain) EZM swivel joints are installed around offshore impact pile driving facilities to reduce noise emissions by up to 90% and thus protect porpoises in the North and Baltic Seas. Good for the porpoises. Good for the environment. 

The noise protection joint is made of highly corrosion-resistant, seawater-resistant 1.4462 stainless steel in the nominal diameters DN80 and DN100.
